there's patch for 1.4.12 in ticket #444 http://cvs.pld-linux.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/SOURCES/lighttpd-apr1.patch?rev=1.3

the patch doesn't comply to any lighttpd coding standards. it was made just proof-of-concept and need for quick solution.

it's license should be acceptable for lighttpd (both are BSD like)
